About the Welcome to New Zealand Scholarship

The Welcome to New Zealand Scholarship offers students from France, Italy, and Germany the chance to study in Aotearoa New Zealand at a high school or university. Winners will receive:

• €5,000 towards tuition fees and study-related costs
• A return flight with Air New Zealand.

Who can apply?

There are four scholarships available, under the following categories:


France

Scholarship for university students

One scholarship is available for a French tertiary student who wishes to study at a New Zealand tertiary institution for at least one semester. Scholarship applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria: 

• French citizen and passport holder. 

• Main residence in France. 

• Must be enrolled at a higher education institution in France

• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.  

• Applicants must meet the enrolment and admission requirements of the New Zealand tertiary institution at which they plan to study.


Germany

Scholarship for university students

One scholarship is available for a German tertiary student who wishes to study at a New Zealand tertiary institution for at least one semester. Scholarship applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria: 

• German citizen and passport holder.

• Main residence in Germany. 

• Must be enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences in Germany

• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.  

• Applicants must meet the enrolment and admission requirements of the New Zealand tertiary institution at which they plan to study. 


Germany

Scholarship for high school students

One scholarship is available for a German high school student who wishes to study at New Zealand high schools for at least two school terms (20 weeks). Scholarship applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria: 

• German citizen and passport holder. 

• Main residence in Germany. 

• Must be a full-time high school student.  

• Be at least 14 years old at the time of application.


Italy

Scholarship for high school students

One scholarship is available for an Italian high school student who wishes to study at New Zealand high schools for at least two school terms (20 weeks). Scholarship applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria: 

• Italian citizen and passport holder. 

• Main residence in Italy. 

• Must be a full-time high school student.  

• Be at least 14 years old at the time of application.  

How to apply

You can apply for the Welcome to New Zealand Scholarship online using the application form. Applications must be submitted in English. Applications in other languages will not be considered.
