Victoria Avenue School motto ‘Our Best Always’ reflects a long held commitment to excellence.

We have an environment where children enjoy a variety of opportunities in academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. Children are constantly encouraged to work hard in order to reach their potential, and support is offered in a variety of ways to ensure this happens. We strive to ensure that learning is fun, relevant and challenging for all children at their level.

We offer children a foundation of positive values and celebrate our diversity. We encourage children to care for our environment through a number of environmental initiatives. We aim to have confident, creative children who develop learning skills and capabilities in preparation for life beyond primary school.

We celebrate success and give high achievers the recognition they deserve as well as giving all students appropriate praise and encouragement for their achievements.

Our school welcomes international students and values the rich social mix overseas students provide in our school community. We are proud of our diverse student population. International students further enhance this rich diversity and provide opportunities for “kiwi” kids to broaden their horizons, reduce ethnocentrism and strengthen bonds with other cultures. We provide a comprehensive programme for international students, designed to enable them to gain a full appreciation of New Zealand life while developing their skills in English.
