Summary

Waihopai School offers a well-resourced primary school based in Invercargill's beautiful Queens Park. We cater for children from 5 to 12 years. The school boasts large grounds that neighbour an 18 hole golf course, Queen's Park and Southland Boys' High School. We offer homestay accommodation.

Our school boasts strong National Standard results that reflect our wonderful community and the emphasis that we place on reading, writing and mathematics. This does not understate the importance we place on inquiry learning (the sciences), fine arts and physical activity that is a feature at our school.

We are a strongly connected global school with 27 nationalities represented.  Our school hosts a Special Needs facility where International students with physical and learning disabilities are able to enrol with the support of an accompanying parent or caregiver. We link with all Invercargill High Schools for a smooth transition from Waihopai School to their chosen high school. We boast individual one to one programmes to support your child's development of their oral and written English language with our ESOL tutor.
