Summary
The purpose of this programme is to provide learners with the knowledge and practical academic skills required to undertake higher-level tertiary study, particularly in the health and wellbeing field.
This programme will produce graduates who are competent and confident in their English language skills and are able to independently and effectively read, write, speak, and listen in academic settings and contexts, in both familiar and less familiar situations.
This programme is open to learners who are building their English language skills in order to progress onto further academic study and those who are eager to gain knowledge and understanding of academic English language at a moderately complex level.
Entry criteria
Domestic Students:
- 16 years of age or over at the time of enrolment :
- Must have a minimum of CEFR of at least LOW B2, or a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) - Level 3 from Skill New Zealand or another New Zealand provider or can demonstrate equivalent evidence of English language proficiency.
- Must sit the Skill New Zealand entry placement test prior to enrolment to ensure that the programme of study chosen is appropriate.\
International Students:
- 18 years of age or over at the time of enrolment
- Must have a minimum of CEFR of at least LOW B2, or a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) - Level 3 from Skill New Zealand or another New Zealand provider or can demonstrate equivalent evidence of English language proficiency.
