Practical training

Students learn in the PIHMS hotel campus for part of their training. Gain an understanding of how the different departments within the hotel operate and function.

Guaranteed paid Hotel job

As part of the Masters programme, PIHMS finds you a guaranteed hotel job so you can have a full time hotel job while you work on your Masters Thesis. This also ensures you have the right New Zealand work experience and industry contacts before you graduate.

Entry criteria

  • Applicants require an appropriate Bachelor Degree in either business, management or a related hospitality area. Degrees in other disciplines may be considered if the applicant has 2-3 years relevant hospitality experience at a supervisory level, or equivalent.
  • All applicants are interviewed.
  • Overseas students will also require an ESOL minimum of IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6).
