The Face to Face programme allows the student to undertake the New Zealand qualification while studying in New Zealand on a student visa. The student will undertake 9-10 weeks of an unpaid internship at an appropriate facility arranged by Kalandra.
There are two programme / strand options: Dementia Care and Diversional Therapy.
Why this programme?
Earn while you learn - if your student visa allows, you can work up to 20 hours per week. NZQA approved - Level 4 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. 9-10 weeks of an unpaid internship arranged by Kalandra in the healthcare industry. Working as a Level 4 healthcare assistant in New Zealand may lead to permanent residence (as per current immigration settings - June 2024).The programme:
Length: 46 weeks (including 6 holiday weeks)
Learning: 20 hours per week in class
Total learning hours: 1200 hours
Work placement: will be arranged to enable you to complete your 400 hours required (non paid).

Education Pathways:
For graduates who wish to pursue further study related to health and wellbeing, this qualification may lead on to the New Zealand Certificate in Public Health and Health Promotion (Level 5), New Zealand Diploma in Addiction Studies (Applied) (Level 6) or bachelor’s degrees in related health and wellbeing subject areas. For graduates who intend to pursue further study related to leadership and management, this qualification may lead on to the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4), the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) and New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 6) or bachelor’s degrees in related leadership and management subject areas.
